Elizabeth Brownrigg (Henderson) Cotten (1875-1975) worked in the Southern Historical Collection and was secretary of the Friends of the Library of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Before her husband's death in 1926, Mrs. Cotten lived for some time in Istanbul, Turkey, and Tokyo, Japan, and was active in Women's Clubs there.
